What is a Domain name?
A domain name is the name of your website’s home online. Example: https://www.weddingfilmmaker.ie
What is website hosting?
Web hosting is basically a server (computer disk storage space) where your website remains for its lifetime. It is provided by a hosting company to whom you pay a fee every year.
What is an SSL Certificate?
An SSL Certificate is used to encrypt the information that is sent from your website to your website visitors browser (example: Google Chrome, Safari etc). It is now a requirement for all websites.
How much does a website cost?
This all depends on what you require and how large your website is going to be. Please contact me with your requirements and I will send you a website proposal.
Are there any Grants available in Ireland for website design?
You may be entitled to a grant of up to €2500 from your Local Enterprise Office to help in the cost of getting your website designed / developed. I would advise making contact with them and should you require any further details regarding your application please let me know.

What Platforms do you use to build websites on?
I use the most user friendly platform available today which is WordPress.
Will I be able to update my own website?
The short answer is “Yes”. The platforms I use make it super easy for a client to be able to edit and update their new website or eCommerce shop.
Do you build online shops / eCommerce websites?
Yes. I build online shops also referred to as eCommerce websites.
If I need photographs or video content can you provide this service?
Yes. I provide videography and photography services.
Do you provide website management training?
Training is provided on delivery of your website.
This is “one to one” training on how to update and edit your new website. I also provide video tutorials for reference.
Is it possible to take payments on my new website?
Yes it is possible to take payments should this be a feature you wish to incorporate into your website.
How long does it take to have my website completed?
I aim to have websites completed in 3 to 5 weeks from the agreed start date. Should this be any different for your website it will be stated in your website proposal.
Is it a once off payment for the design and development of my new website?
Yes. Your website design is a once off payment to me. Before commencing the web design an overall price is agreed. 50% deposit is paid before website development commences. The remaining balance is paid on delivery of the new website.
Do you provide website support?
The first 2 months are provided for free as stated in the breakdown of costs in your website proposal. (Not just technical queries. Simply call or email for support). Support after the first two months is provided at an hourly rate by phone and email. This rate will be listed in your website proposal.
What are the ongoing costs of having a website?
- Your new website build is a once off payment to MedoDesign.ie. Any other fees charged would be just for support when required. I do not charge monthly fees like many web design companies.
- On going costs to having a website include, website hosting, domain name, SSL Certificate. All those payments will be made directly to your hosting company and not to me. When you decide to work with me we will setup your website hosting, domain name and SSL Certificate so you will be billed annually by your hosting provider.
